Transcription: As well as protecting the home islands, the British were charged with maintaining their imperial possessions from covetous aggressors. Japan had desperately wanted to dominate all of Asia and Burma was high on its list. But for the bravery of the Chindits, the British soldiers and their Indian counterparts fighting side by side, Burma as the lynchpin would surely have fallen and the rest of Asia as well.
